Reading Bubble

I need to work on my shading, but the comic journal idea is good practice. I could really use some greyscale prismas making my life easier, but c'est la vie.

James is the reason for this one- James and his stupidly good reading suggestions.

  1. I'm reading Norwegian Wood at the moment :) I have a sneaking suspicion that Haruki Murakami will become a fast favorite. I started reading it today while traveling back from the beach and I have 50 pages left... the only good thing about finishing it is that I will be able to move on to The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle or Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World and experience the magical realism that Murakami is known for.

If you plan on reading more Murakami in the near future, would you be at all interested in a sort of informal long-distance book club? I'd love to chat with someone else who is new to him. Thanks to Ben and his wonderful bookshelf of doom I have access to everything he's written that has been translated into English.

Have you by any chance read The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay by Michael Chabon? That was one of my other vacation reads and it's fucking fantastic and I think you'd enjoy it very much.
